Yellow Jackets vs. Whalers, April 26th, 2007

Too Little, Too Late in This Bloody Affair

The Whalers, a quick new team to the division, made up mostly of STAC college players, were too fast for the Jackets for most of the game last night. Tallying a goal in each of the first two periods, the Whalers got a 2 goal lead halfway through the game. George Remennik was twarted on a breakaway, and while trying to stop for the rebound, lost an edge, and inadvertantly kicked himself in the high ankle. The gash on his leg required a long stoppage and an ambulence. Dispite not knowing the full extent of his injury, George could be heard on the stretcher saying, "Win this one for me."

After the stoppage, the Jackets could not respond to the loss of their wing, and relinquished 2 more goals, falling to 4-0. In the final moments, the Jacket's offense finally showed up, the Jackets scored two quick goals, by Perrone and Sisco, making the game respectable, at 4-2 where it ended. The Jackets record now falls to 2-1 with some roster tinkering to do in Remennik's absence of unknown lenght.
