Yellow Jackets vs. The Rockets, May 23rd, 2007 Rockets Blast Jackets In a game that was not against the Replacements, the Jackets looked overmatched. It did not help that they were extremely shorthanded, skating only 9 players, dispite the return of Chris Hagen. The Jackets came out flying, as the player the Jackets stole from the Rockets, Joe Grecco, scored 2 quick goals to give the Jackets the early lead. The Jackets were able to start strong, adding another tally by Chris Hagen, and only giving up one goal in the frame to finish the first at 3-1. The Jackets lead was shortlived, as the second period was all Rockets. The Jackets were fatigued and showing it, giving up 6 straight goals, as the Rockets blasted off to a 7-3 lead at the end of the period. The Jackets refused to lay down as they traded goals witht the Rockets, as two Peronne goals were answered back right away, making the score 9-5 Rockets. Joe Grecco finished off his hat trick against his former team and Tanner Finnan tallyed a powerplay goal with just over a minute remaining to make the score much closer than the game was, 9-7.
