Jackets Show Resolve... Tie Up O.L. From Behind

The shorthanded Jackets fell to an early 3-1 deficit by the end of the first period and their fortunes did not improve in the second, as they found themselves staring at the wrong end of a 6-3 score by the end of the frame. With 15 mins left in the contest, Captain LaRobardier reminded struggling goaltender, Matt Rovetto, that any more goals against will balloon his already inflated goals against average of 6 per game.

That knowledge seemed to invigorate Rovetto as he turned his game around and the Jacket offense righted the ship as they went on to score 3 goals in the final frame, the last, a shorthanded goal on a breakaway by Marat Shikhris to tie the game with under 2 mins to play and complete his hat trick.

This game marked another contest which the Jackets battled back and never gave up. To bad they do not battle like that every game...
