Yellow Jackets vs. Chiefs, July 24th, 2007

Jackets Scalp the Chiefs

Playing with just 6 skaters, missing three of their better players, Chris Sisco, Mike Heller, and Mike Earl, were able to gut out a victory with team defense and timely contributions by all.

Tanner Finnan led the way, scoring 4 goals and adding an assist while playing defense. He was able to sneak in from the point unchecked and get shots away all night, leading the offensive charge. Matt Rovetto showed he is not ready to let up his strong play, as he continued to sparkle in net, getting beat by a screened shot and a couple of bad bounces.

The Jackets team oriented style has earned them 6 points in the standings as they solidify their playoff position. In beating the first 3 teams, the Jackets have one more team to face before they see all of the competition they will have to deal with in this shortened season. A win over the Bulls, the old Colt 45, will mean there is not a team in the division they cannot handle.
