Yellow Jackets vs. Old Dirty Gills, August 27th, 2007 Gills Halt Jacket's Run An up and down season ended on a down note, as the Jackets, missing some important peices, failed to make it past the first round of the playoffs. With the summer schedule hectic for the Jackets players, many key cogs in the machine missed several games and too often the Jackets were not able to overcome their absences. This happened again, with the Jackets missing Mike Heller, who has really stepped up on defense for them, and Matt Desomma, an important point producer, the Jackets were unable to slow the Old Dirty Gills attack or counter effectively. The Jackets were able to play with the Gills for the first couple of periods, but soon their weakened numbers took a toll, and the ODG were able to roll over on the Jackets, scoring 3 straight goals. The Jackets failed to make it past the first round and now must turn their attention to the next season, where some missing Jackets plan to return and refill their ranks.
